NEVER EVER EVER USE BLUEHOST- I have been on hold with them for over an hour because they completely deleted my magento store… finally we got it fixed (about 3 weeks ago) and now 15 wordpress installs on a completely different account, on a completely different server have been deleted

EVERYTHING GONE, INSTANTLY, THEY SAY THEY CAN’T RESTORE IT AND NOW THEY WON’T EVEN OFFER ME SUPPORT

BLUEHOST WILL SCREW YOU UP, I DON’T CARE WHO YOU USE, BUT NEVER USE BLUEHOST

as you can tell I am a little angry right now

data lost can be caused by many reasons, this is why we must backup data frequently. store the backup files in local computer is recommended. Either bluehost or others hosting, always backup your web files and database.

Im an amateur at web design, I will admit. But my bluehost sites and email accounts were hacked so many times that it rendered them completely useless. In every case I couldn’t get a single person on the line to explain to me what to do to resolve the issue. BLUEHOST = BAD EXPERIENCE FOR THIS GUY.

Bluehost truly sucks. Their support is beyond bad and even deleted my data. They then say sorry but due to size there is no backup. And get this… unlimited is 200K files which is ~40GB at most depending on how many email accounts you have. Each email message whether it is spam or not goes against the total # of files. Recently, BH has introduced a limit to the size of the databases 3GB total with no single database bigger than 2GB. They have an unusual high compromised site rate compared to anybody. In short, do not listen to any reviews saying BH is a decent site. They are not. Check out their forums…. lots of complaints…. well that is until the mods delete the negativity. :)

The company deleted my domains without even telling me via email or phone call. I signed on 3 weeks later only to find out that the domains removed. I tried calling customer support and they could not give me a good reason for deleting the account. They responded that the website was requested to be deleted due to fraudulence but they did not give me any proof. How could it be fraudulent when they were able to accept my payment huh? Bull-effing-sh!t.

The problem was this, they tried to detect false presence to the establishment of the account. I had used an overseas email account when I created the domains. The stupid company thought that the overseas email account was invalid. Then they requested my full license identification or passport and more personal information just to re-enable the account back on, which they had automatically deleted due to their false fraudulent detecting mechanism. I had enough. I wasn’t going to give out detailed personal information. On top of things, I had to go through hoops of people simply to find out that my domains were deleted without my knowledge and my permission.

US web host are usually strict with oversea customers, they oftenly requires them to proof their identity with driving license photo etc, some even requesting the utility billing address too. Its a fraud prevention steps, unavoidable.

After signup with US hosting plan, if you have been selected for verification, do provide the necessary document copy and have the account approved. The process can be completed in just an hour of time.

WordPress is a great blogging tool, and powerful too, thanks to a wide range of plugins. However, not all plugins play well together as I experienced the other day, when I caused a 500 server error on my blog.

I first tried the usual Restore option from my cPanel, as I did make a backup a few days back. Didn’t work. Why? Help!

I then tried to edit my database tables and set active plugins to zero, which I hoped would enable me to remove the culprit from within my dashboard. Didn’t work. Still 500 error. Really HELP!

Hours had gone by and I was becoming desperate. Scouring the Internet for clues, and being absolutely clueless from looking at my error logs, I looked at my cPanel for the nth time and saw a new icon not seen before: Site Backup and Restore.

Well, desperate times require desperate measures, so why not try it, so I clicked the “Restore Home Directory”. Tada! 5 seconds and I was back online. Ok, I had to recreate a couple of posts and such, but that feature really saved my day.

I haven’t always been 100% satisfied with BlueHost, I have to be honest here, now I am. Really.

Actually i feel like been cheated with promotion of free $75 Adword voucher..at the frontpage of bluehost did not state that the voucher only for US and Canada resident. After register and want to redeem the voucher then i knew.. that my review.. little bit down..because other hosting also offer for the same free gift to all resident in the world.. And also, when i want to verify my account it take long time to deal.. the chat system no funtion very well..so that all my review..

The Bluehost CPU limitations are rather draconian. You will never get anywhere NEAR the promised traffic unless you tweak and tweak your web site to use almost no PHP at all.

    Review From: Becky
    Website: Clearstrongcontent.com

I read the ad on the landing page–if I opened a Bluehost account, the free web design and software would walk me thought it and I would have a working web site in 10 minutes.

I can’t find anything to tell me how to set up that site. I tried chat–the responder gave me a link to some designs, but I couldn’t see anyway they were free.

I’m pretty frustrated. I actually need this site live now. I’m a fairly adept person–why not a tutorial that says, “Set up your website”?

There is two route for you to take in order to create website online.

    1) use the free open source apps including wordpress, joomla, drupal, phpbb for forum site, ecommerce shopping sites, etc. All these free apps are available at Bluehost cPanel > simplescripts

    2) creating website by using the site builder tool. Go to bluehost cpanel, under software you will find SITE BUILDER and also TRENDY SITE BUILDER. These are the two website building software that you can use to create webpages. Its online based software.

hope these information will help you getting started
