** This Bluehost Review is hosted with Bluehost Hosting.

This will be a quick review about hosting a forum script at bluehost web hosting plan. Question is, will bluehost hosting suitable for phpbb forum script hosting, the famous open source forum discussion script. Note that phpbb are forum scripts and it require more server response expecially php process and mysql database query, if compared to web publishing or blogging website. So, its important to test it out and review it.

phpBB forum script is available for installation from blue host fantastico, we use that link to quickly setup phpbb at this blue hosting plan. Once we are done, we perform some quick testing on the new forum site. Browsing the new forum, to identify any slowliness in server response etc. What we find out is what we expected, bluehost hosting is using high end server, thus hosting a phpbb forum site will be OK as long you are running a small size forum.

Bluehost hosting with unlimited storage + unlimited bandwidth + cpanel control panel, are suitable to host forum website for example vbulletin, smf forum or phpbb forum. From the forum site setup and installation point of view, you will successfully get the forum site setup and running in minutes of time.

Most webmaster or forum moderator always concern about the server load the forum site will create. Basically if you are using well optimised forum script like vbulletin forum and configure it right, meaning not having too much function/feaute/module enable and added to the forum site, it shouldn’t have any problem. You can host vbulletin forum with up to ten or hundreds of members online at the same time, all in this $6.95 per month hosting plan from bluehost hosting.

Another concern is the bluehost cpu usage and server resources that you can ‘hold’ at one particular time. Every shared hosting provider put a limit cap on how many process that you can run, and for how long. Basically this is the only big disadvantage of using shared hosting plan. Bluehost cpu usage is 30 seconds long. As long your process terminate itself, you won’t get the “site suspension” that you will get from bluehost server. Alternative to solve these site suspension is to upgrade your bluehost hosting to higher cpu usage server, a little extra money per month, and will get you out of the website suspension by giving you much higher cpu usage limit cap.

Bottomline, is that bluehost server resources are consider high enough. You can get good server resource to host your vbulletin forum script. Make sure its optimised, and it will be running like a champ. Good luck to your foruming!

Bluehost hosting is a fast growing hosting company, and currently with more than 315,000 domains hosted. I joined bluehost on March 2007, and also joined their community forum http://www.bluehostforum.com/. The bluehost forum is now joined by more than 18,000 members. I had wonderful time with bluehost and also at their community forum. Guess… 4 months time really make me part of this big family. I get to know few hosting expert at this forum, and they are really skillful. Some are php expert, some are really master in .htaccess rewrite or php.ini configuration. And also wide range of script setup and installation troubleshooting. If you got anything that you don’t understand, or you need to ask someone for help, think of bluehost forum.

I been joining bluehost forums for almost a month now, and i am glad that most the question posted there is get answer by some helpful moderator and system administrator. The blue host forum can be access at http://www.bluehostforum.com/

Go to Bluehost.com

I see that, bluehost forum is the first place to get help for problem that is outside of technical support scope.  This bluehost community is a great place to bring forward any scripting issue, just like problem with blog script, fantastico, shopping cart, ssl, etc etc. I haven’t seen a limit of discussion about bluehost, good or bad comment is posted and get reply there.

This month and the following years, i hope to get myself involved into this forums time to time, not only to check the latest news, but also to help few newbies/members to solve their problems… and to get my problem solved as well :)
